RETRO STYLE POSTERS

I made these posters the other day - they are retro style Vespa posters, using a similar style to that used in the 1970's Italian Vespa adverts. They're for sale in my shop here: www.etsy.com/shop/bluebuttonstudio and they're only £10 for an A3 poster on 300gsm silk paper.

YELLOW STATIONERY

 

I got home the other day to find these cards and the sticker book I ordered had arrived in the mail. I love the colour and size of my cards - they're a little over half the size of normal business cards - I really didn't want my cards to just look like everyone elses and blend in - so I thought I would give these a try - and I think they do the job. I'll definitely be putting in a re-order when these run out.

The little sticker book is pretty cool too. I thought it would be a nice touch to add a sticker to the back of the cellophane bags that I put my art into once it's been mounted, so it's ready to sell, or ship (or both).

LEMONS

 

I drew some lemons this evening... they're sunny and bright. These are done in watercolour and pen and ink.

DAISY, DAISY...

I have recently done some more illustrations... DAISIES. I did them in three colours I think look nice together. 

These remind me of the smell of freshly cut summer grass in the garden, while making daisy chains.

FLIP FLOPS

 

Here are the flip flops I said I'd turn into illustrations.

The bright colours make me want to go to the beach. I don't think you can ever have enough sandals either (even if they are all the same design, just different colours). I hope you like them.

Inspiration for my 'Little Car' prints

We were in Krakow last May when we saw these two little old cars. They inspired me to do some retro style illustration prints earlier this year. I have done a collection of really cool retro themed prints of Vespa Motorcycles, with a modern feel. They look really nice hung on the wall in a row with a couple from the range in different colours. As well as the pictures shown in the posters above, I also have a lime green Vespa and a pink one.

SUMMER

I love these colourful beach flip flops

I bought some flip flops the other day but it's been raining ever since and haven't worn them yet - so I drew them instead. I like the illustration nearly as much as the actual sandals and think I will make a print with them. Keep an eye on my shop because I will be adding them very soon.

They make me feel summery!!!

INSPIRED BY BUDAPEST

An old lamp in Pest, Budapest

I have just come back from Budapest and feel inspired to do some more illustrations. Budapest was full of really cool old fashioned street lamps and interesting buildings. Here's my favourite photo of one of the old lamps... I am going to get this into my next illustration.

I think this photo's pretty cool too... very 1920/30's I suppose. I just love the old fashioned looking umbrella's with a violinist playing to the people drinking coffee, while looking out over Budapest. I wish we'd stopped here, but we'd been on our feet all day looking around the city. I got so many brilliant shots that have given me loads of inspiration for more illustrations.

AVOCADO'S

I love avocado's. The green colour is so fresh and they look really cool in a square of nine different shaped avocado's. It would look really good in the kitchen on the wall.

CHILLIES

Green chillies

Green, orange and red chillies

I saw some chillies in the supermarket the other day and thought they'd make a really nice illustration. They seem to sit well together on the page. I like the red orange and green ones. They have been quite popular in my shop with quite a few people adding them to their favourite items. I hope you like them too.
